Two Melbourne financial advisers. One file.
Opes is deliberately small. Balki Balakrishnan brings more than twelve years across financial planning, lending and property; Kruti Balakrishnan brings a Chartered Accountant's depth in investments and wealth structuring. Between them the planning, the loan and the property stay in one conversation instead of three.

Balki Balakrishnan.
Balki came to financial advice after a long career in information technology, on a straightforward belief: strong families build strong communities, and communities built on sound finances are steadier for it. More than twelve years later he has advised clients ranging in age from 21 to 86.
He holds both the financial advice and the credit authorisations, which is unusual and is the reason Opes can write the strategy and arrange the lending without referring either out. In practice the mortgage structure gets chosen with the twenty-year plan in view, not separately from it.
His work has concentrated in SMSF lending — 30+ SMSF loan clients to date — and with medical professionals on income protection, super and property. Read the story of why he became an adviser.

Kruti Balakrishnan.
Kruti is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in investments, wealth creation and strategic financial planning. She built her career with KPMG, Deloitte and Goldman Sachs, and brings that technical grounding to a practice where most of the questions are, in the end, practical ones.
She works with individuals and families on building, protecting and growing wealth at every stage of life — investment planning, retirement, wealth protection, tax-effective strategies, and the intergenerational transfers that families tend to leave until late.
Her view is that good advice starts with understanding what actually matters to a particular household, then building a strategy around it. Having worked as both a finance professional and an entrepreneur, she treats every financial position as its own problem rather than a template.

What clients have said.

What truly sets Balki apart is his foresight and steady hand during turbulent times. When COVID upended the financial landscape across Australia and interest rates climbed dramatically, Balki guided me through every twist with clarity and confidence.
He had helped me right from the beginning in setting up my personal risk insurance, which I thought was incredibly difficult as I had to obtain my health record details from NHS.
A 15-minute call is the right next step.
